Bringing Stories to Life

Our Year 8 students stepped into the imaginative world of animation during a hands-on session with Gippsland Tech. From sketching ideas on their storyboards to understanding digital tools, they explored how art and technology work together to make characters move and stories unfold. The experience sparked creativity, teamwork, and a new appreciation for the magic behind the screen. The students and staff were absolutely fascinated.

CBCA Shadow Judging

A small group of enthusiastic Year 7 and 8 students recently participated in the 2025 CBCA Shadow Judging program for Picture Book of the Year with Mrs Mills and Ms Sharp.

Over several weeks, the group read, analysed, and discussed a series of shortlisted titles, offering thoughtful insights and rich analysis during their meetings. After much discussion, they cast their final vote for A Leaf Called Greaf by Kelly Canby.

At the conclusion of the program, each student was presented with a certificate recognising their participation and contribution. Well done to our budding literary critics for their hard work, sharp thinking, and passion for reading!

Growing and Studying Crystals

Our Year 8 scientists have been hard at work on their CAT, diving into the fascinating world of rocks and minerals. As part of the unit, students created Alum crystals using different concentrations of Alum solution. They then examined their creations under microscopes, comparing the size and quantity of crystals produced. This hands-on investigation not only brought chemistry to life but also highlighted how changes in chemical concentration can impact crystal growth, turning science into a sparkling display of learning.

Making the Most of the Hub Space

Students have been making great use of the Hub space to focus on their work, collaborate with classmates, and complete tasks in a supportive environment. It’s become a go-to spot for productive learning and teamwork.
