Students had a blast on the basketball court, showing off their skills and sportsmanship alongside our very own Principal Mr Roberts. In a spirit of teamwork and fun, the students and Mr Roberts teamed up for a friendly game of basketball. It was a great opportunity for everyone to bond, get active, and see the fun side of our leadership team.
We are beyond proud to share that Year 9 student Ayla has been making waves in the lawn bowls world, competing in multiple high-profile events! Kicking off with the Golden Nugget in Tweed Heads and showcasing her skill at the Tri-Series Victoria versus New South Wales and Queensland. Ayla has also competed in the prestigious School Sports Australia Championship. Each of these incredible experiences has given Ayla the chance to shine, demonstrating not only her technical ability but also her commitment, sportsmanship, and resilience. We are so proud of Ayla's incredible achievements!
Year 9 students are diving into one of the most fascinating topics in science — the brain and nervous system. Through hands-on activities, engaging discussions, and exciting experiments, they’re learning how the brain functions as the body’s control centre and how the nervous system communicates messages throughout the body.
This week, our students got hands-on with neuroscience by creating Lolly Neurons—a fun and tasty way to learn about the parts of a neuron! Using candy to represent dendrites, axons, and synapses, they explored how brain cells communicate, all while getting creative (and a little sticky). Science has never been so sweet!
Students are getting excited for our Melbourne trip that is taking place in September.
Attached is a letter students were given to bring home for parents/guardians to read.
As you can see Gavan and Robbie are super keen!
Our Year 9 students have been smashing it at break time with some epic ping pong battles! Whether it’s tricky spins, quick rallies, or friendly challenges, the table’s buzzing with energy and good vibes.
A message from the Year 9 Boys:
Enjoy the crisp, juicy taste of fresh fruit, picked at the peak of ripeness for maximum flavour and nutrition. Fruit is located at the Hub.
