L4 Homework Week 7 and 8
Laptops are needed for the assessment and need to be brought to school fully charged, please.
Literacy:
In Literacy our focus has been drafting, creating, and editing persuasive texts. Moving forward we will be using the Text, "Always Was Always Will Be". To discuss the history of the indigenous people of this land. Especially the significance of the 1967 referendum. Students will analyse, reflect and respond to the various topics and discussions prompted by this text.
In Spelling we have been looking at the base word 'capt-ceit-ceive-cept-cip' meaning take/hold/catch.
This word builder picture below is part of the homework this fortnight. How many words do you know and do you know the meaning too?

Numeracy:
In Math our focus has turned to multiplicative thinking.
We are primarily focusing on recalling and demonstrating proficiency with multiplication facts up to 10 (Times tables up to 10). This will include related division facts and explain the patterns in these. We will also endeavor to extend and apply these facts to develop efficient mental and written strategies for computation with larger numbers without a calculator.
Problem solving questions will be provided to those students who need extension.
Cooking
At the moment the Grade fours are on hold for cooking as various classes have needed to be prioritised. However, we anticipate cooking dumplings shortly..... could be week 8?
