Visual Arts
A huge congratulations to Elsie Boyce who was awarded 1st place, and Madeline Spinks awarded 2nd place in the Ellen Jose Reconciliation Awards, primary school division Levels F-3. Also congratulations to Ethan Powers and Edith Shearer who won finalists prizes as well.
Reconciliation week in art has seen a lot of thoughtful aboriginal style art pieces created using harmonious colours, as we explore what reconciliation means to us, and the future of our country living together with kindness, forgiveness and harmony.
Love Art!

Physical Education
Level F- 2
Students in F–2 have been developing their throwing and catching skills through a variety of fun and engaging activities. Using tennis balls, colourful silks, and beanbags, students have been practising different catching techniques and learning strategies to improve their success when catching.
It has been wonderful to see students grow in confidence and demonstrate increased control and coordination as they continue to develop these fundamental movement skills.
Level 3 & 4
In Levels 3 & 4, students have been developing their kicking, bouncing, and marking skills through AFL 9s. Throughout the unit, students have been learning and practising the fundamental skills required to play Australian Rules Football, while also improving their teamwork and game awareness.
It has been fantastic to see students applying these skills in game situations and, most importantly, enjoying themselves, with plenty of smiles on display throughout each lesson.
We are now transitioning into Athletics, where students will be developing their sprinting and hurdling skills. Through a variety of drills and activities, students will learn the techniques needed to run efficiently and safely clear hurdles.
These skills will be valuable as students begin preparing for our Athletics Carnival in Term 3, and we look forward to seeing their confidence and performance continue to improve.

Science
Foundation
The Foundation children are learning more about day and night, as well as nocturnal and diurnal animals.
Level 1 & 2
We were so fortunate to have Luis Mata from Bayside Village Zero as guest speaker. He explained about the insects that will visit our pollinator garden. Luis, Bayside Village Zero and SEPS Backyard 2025 all worked together to plant the garden.
Level 3 & 4
Level 3 & 4 have shrunk the Earth to the size of a tennis ball. We have studied the relative size of the Moon (a marble) and the Sun. We then went on a walk to discover the distance between the Moon, Earth and Moon.
Level 5 & 6
Level 5 & 6 have been studying rays and reflection. They have been experimenting with mirrors and the ways mirrors can create illusions.
Stay Curious!
