Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Winter brings cold, dark, and often dreary days, making it a challenging season for many. This also offers an opportunity to focus on kindness and support.  Small gestures — like checking in on someone or offering help—can make a big difference during this time.

There’s plenty happening at our College right now, from subject selections and career pathways to a range of exciting events. To make sure you don’t miss out on important updates, please check your Compass App regularly.

A Memorable Visit from the Governor-General

This week, our College had the distinct honour of welcoming Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia. The purpose of her visit was to meet with students and tour our campus.

A highlight of the day was her spontaneous drop-in to a Year 9 Gym class, followed by an impromptu chat with a group of students in the senior hub. Our College Captains and year level leaders also had the unique opportunity to spend time with the Governor-General, asking insightful questions about her role— including the fun query of whether she uses the pool at Government House in Canberra!

The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, and we are extremely proud of how our students conducted themselves throughout the visit. It was truly a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Trade and Tech Excursion

Last Wednesday 4th June, 30 enthusiastic female students visited the Melbourne Convention Centre for an inspiring and eye-opening experience focused on future careers in traditionally male-dominated industries. The event showcased a wide range of career pathways in critical and fast-growing sectors of Victoria’s economy, aiming to break down gender stereotypes and open doors to new opportunities.

It was an amazing opportunity for our students to attend and see all the possibilities available to them. Congratulations to the dedicated staff at BSC who make events like this possible — your efforts continue to open doors and inspire futures.

A Night of Talent and Creativity: Drama Gala Shines

Last Thursday 5th June, our College community was treated to a stunning display of talent and creativity at the Drama Gala. Students from Year 7, Year 10, and VCE took to the stage and delivered an unforgettable evening of performance, passion and pride.

What an amazing night it was — each act showcased the incredible skill, confidence, and hard work of our drama students.

A huge congratulations to all the students involved, and to the dedicated staff who supported and guided them in bringing the show to life.
