Student Achievements

Sporting Achievement

Blackburn High School is proud to celebrate the outstanding sporting achievements of Akeem Gerald. 

Recently, Akeem signed a professional contract with Melbourne City FC, marking an incredible milestone in his sporting journey.

In August, Akeem made his debut in the Hahn Australia Cup in Sydney, where he was one of the youngest players to take the field. Adding to this achievement, he has also been selected to represent Australia in the Joey’s tournament in Japan later this year.

 We congratulate Akeem on these remarkable accomplishments and look forward to following his continued success both on and off the field.

Congratulations Sidney and Quentin

Sidney (Yr 11 Freeman) was selected to the Rugby Victoria U17 State team and successfully competed at the National Junior Rugby Championships on the Sunshine Coast, where he was named Victorian Player of the Tournament.

Quentin (Yr 9 Freeman) has been selected to the Rugby Vic U15 State team and will compete at the NSW Next Gen Cup in Sydney and play the ACT Brumbies in Albury during the holidays. 

Both boys will also travel to Europe in October to play in the Portugal Youth Rugby Festival, the largest international rugby tournament in Europe. This is the only photo I have of the boys together in their RV gear.

Melbourne Storm Touch Football - Dash

Congratulations to Year 7 Dunlop student, Dash M, who, for the 2nd year in a row, has made the Melbourne Storm Touch Football team representing Victoria – U12 & now U14. Dash competed in the Junior State Cup and the National Youth Championships

Once again, both large and small ensembles from our Music Program delivered outstanding performances, returning with a collection of trophies and enriching experiences.

  • Beginner Orchestra/Strings: Junior Strings: 1st Place
  • Intermediate Orchestra/Strings: Concert Strings: 3rd Place
  • U/20 Instrumental Ensemble: Clarinet Ensemble: 1st Place; Brass Ensemble: 2nd Place
  • U/16 Instrumental Ensemble: Junior Flute Ensemble: 1st Place; Frankenjazz: 2nd Place
  • Junior Guitar Ensemble: 3rd Place
  • Junior Concert Bands: Junior Band: 2nd Place; Novice Band: 3rd Place
  • Advanced Concert Bands: Symphonic Band: 2nd Place
  • Junior Big Bands: Thursday Big Band:2nd Place; Intermediate Big Bands: IBB: 3rd Place
  • Advanced Big Bands: Senior Jazz Orchestra: 1st Place
