Professional Learning Day: Building the Capabilities to Achieve our 2025–2029 Strategic Goals
Thursday 21st August 2025.
On our recent whole-staff Professional Learning day, teaching and education support staff engaged in a rich and purposeful three-hour session focused on shaping the future direction of our school. The session centred on the new School Strategic Plan (SSP) for 2025–2029, which outlines ambitious goals, targets and key improvement strategies (KIS) designed to drive growth in student learning, wellbeing and engagement over the next four years.
The key question guiding the day was: “What capabilities, skills and knowledge in our school leaders will enable us to achieve the School Strategic Plan goals, targets and key improvement strategies?”
Throughout the session, staff explored and reflected on current practices, considering how leadership capabilities such as collaboration, instructional expertise, and data-informed decision-making will be essential to driving the success of the new SSP.
The day fostered a strong sense of shared purpose and optimism, with staff contributing thoughtful ideas on how to build these capabilities within our leadership teams. The session concluded with shared presentations, providing an opportunity for staff to exchange ideas and perspectives from across all areas of the school community.
This professional learning day marks an important first step in bringing our new School Strategic Plan to life, ensuring every student benefits from high-quality teaching, strong support, and a culture of continuous improvement in the years ahead.
