Wellbeing

This term the Wellbeing Team continued supporting students through a variety of engaging activities. Our Year 8 workshops focused on the themes of belonging and connection. We launched our first Balanced Bites cooking group, where a small group of students explored the link between food, and wellbeing while learning to prepare healthy, tasty meals. The new Puzzle Club has been running weekly with great success, offering a relaxing, team-based environment where students can unwind and de-stress by collaboratively completing puzzles.
We also marked important awareness days including Wear It Purple Day and R U OK? Day. For R U OK? Day, we were joined by Youth ConneXions and headspace Box Hill, and students contributed to our "Positivi-Tree" by writing uplifting messages for those facing challenges. Lunchtime activities such as cornhole, bowling, catchball, and a mindfulness chill-out zone added to the day’s focus on fun, connection, and support.
On Monday August 11th, the Student Leads of Wellbeing and Inclusion, alongside the Wellbeing team, ran a lunchtime heartwarming hot chocolate activity to lift spirits and promote kindness. Each cup was paired with a handwritten message of encouragement, creating a small moment of warmth and positivity during the busy school day. The initiative aimed to promote the importance of social connection and community in supporting healthy wellbeing - because sometimes, a kind word and a warm drink can make all the difference in a person’s day.
