Year 7 Boys State Australian Rules Football -Quarter Finals
It was a fantastic achievement to have this team reach a state final in Melbourne and represent the school at the highest level for the first time since our Intermediate team back in 2013. Playing against the mighty Rowville Secondary College, a team who has tasted success at that level many times before, our boys gave it their all throughout the match.
During the game we showed true grit against a very dominant team, allowing ourselves to continually create contests and passages of play that impressed our coach’s and parent fans alike. Goals came freely for the opposition unfortunately as well as holding us to 1 goal (Rocky) 2 behinds for the game. A true testament to the strengths of this group of footballers was their ability to back themselves into a contest, follow instructions and communicate out on the field helping one another time and time again.
A tough loss to this team on the day, but the start of real and positive things to come for BSC.
Year 7 Boys Gippsland Soccer
The Year 7 team travelled to Warragul on Wednesday to play 3 matches at regional level. Competing on synthetic fields, the team had plenty to run for on the quick and smooth surface. Drawing 1 game and losing the other 2, was a spirit leveller gaining insight at where we need to get to be competitive in the future at that level.
