Year 10 Drama Production – ‘Magical Book of Fairytales’

Congratulations to the cast from the Year 10 Drama class, who presented their production last week across three matinee performances to local primary schools and one evening show to family and friends. It was wonderful to see the students create such an entertaining performance for our local community. The primary students thoroughly enjoyed the production! 

VCE Theatre Studies 

The Year 12 Theatre Studies students viewed the production, ‘Three Sisters’ at Theatre Works. They were lucky to meet the cast and director afterwards, which was a great opportunity for the students to ask questions about their career as performers.

TOP CLASS - Theatre Studies 

Congratulations to Kabir Mahanty for his success in being selected to perform in the Season of Excellence Concert for Top Class Theatre Studies. It was so special to watch Kabir present his monologue at the Recital Centre to an audience of current VCE Theatre Studies students, friends and family. Kabir's monologue is from his Unit 4 performance exam. He interpreted the prescribed play, 'The Notebook of Trigorin' as an actor / director, in the role of Trigorin. Our current VCE Theatre Studies students were certainly inspired by Kabir's success in achieving a perfect score for his monologue. It was wonderful to celebrate Kabir's achievement with his friends, family,  past and current Theatre Studies students. 

VCE Theatre Studies - Past Student 

During Term 1, past student, Austin MacDonald ('21) spoke to the Theatre Studies students about his Victorian College of Arts - Acting degree. Austin recently graduated from his 3-year course in Acting, and is currently working in roles for short films. The advice he offered to the current students about the path from VCE into university studies was inspiring. We thank Austin for coming into Parkdale for a Q and A about his degree, and the fantastic advice he gave to our young performers who are interested in pursuing a career in the performing arts industry.
