International Students Surf Lifesaving Excursion

On the fourth of March, International Students went on an excursion to Mordialloc Beach with Miss Lucy who ran the safety beach program, and Ms Calbet.

We floated with the help of noodles and balls. We also saw some jelly on the beach, and drilled a rescue of our partners by using the noodles.

We learned how to float on the sea, and practised rescuing others with floating device.

We must also learn to make a circle if we are lost at sea and wear lifejackets. In addition, we should swim between the red-yellow flags so the lifeguard can see us.

We think we should have more time at the beach. We also recommend students in the future to bring the sunglasses and a change of clothes, because the sunlight is very strong, and we must get into the water. You can also bring a water-proofed bag for your phone.

We had a great time. We enjoyed ourselves and felt delighted, but Jack felt too hot to walk.

On the fourth of March, International Students went on an excursion to Mordialloc Beach with Miss Lucy who ran the safety beach program, and Ms Calbet.

We played a rescue game on the beach, and played beach volleyball. Our favourite part was playing with the ball in the sea , and floating.

We learnt how to ask for help if we are in danger in the sea and where it is safe to swim. We also learnt to swim between the two flags because if we swim outside the two flags the lifeguards can’t see us. We also learnt how to ask for help if we are in danger in the sea and where it is safe to swim.

We can become good swimmers, and coach others on safety at the beach like not to swim if they don’t know the waters.

I think it's a good experience for us to practice and learn about safety at the beach.
