QGSSSA Cross Country Championship Recap
As the 2026 Cross Country season comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a fantastic season for our Clayfield athletes and what a privilege and joy it has been to lead the 2026 Cross Country season.
One of the highlights of the year was seeing so many students commit themselves to training and meets throughout the season. Whether attending early morning sessions, competing at lead-up meets, or representing the Green, Gold and Blue on race day, the enthusiasm and dedication shown by our athletes was outstanding. It was incredibly rewarding to watch runners of all abilities grow in confidence, improve their performances and achieve personal goals through their hard work and persistence.
The season provided countless opportunities to celebrate the progress of our athletes. From those competing in their first Cross Country race to our more experienced runners achieving personal bests and strong results, it was inspiring to see everyone challenge themselves and support one another along the way. The encouragement shared between teammates at training sessions and meets helped create a positive and welcoming team culture that made the season so enjoyable.
The QGSSSA Cross Country Championships were a fitting culmination of the season. It was wonderful to see our athletes compete with determination, resilience and pride, showcasing the results of months of preparation and commitment. Every athlete who represented Clayfield should be incredibly proud of their efforts and the sportsmanship they displayed throughout the day. Most importantly, this season was a celebration of the amazing athletes within our school. Thank you to everyone who trained, competed and supported Cross Country in 2026. Your commitment, positivity and willingness to give your best made this season one to remember, and we look forward to seeing the program continue to thrive in the years ahead.

Our hard work earnt us a brilliant win, bringing the Percentage Cup home. The girls (Ava, Charlize and Winnie) also came third place in the Noel McBride Relay. There were lots of awesome individual results too.
