🧡Celebrating Friendship Day🧡
Recently, our school celebrated International Friendship Day with a range of activities focused on friendship, kindness, inclusion and belonging.
Throughout the day, students explored the qualities of healthy friendships, learnt strategies for building and maintaining positive relationships, and participated in activities that strengthened connections with their classmates. They also learnt about the important work of Family Life and how the organisation supports children and families in our local community. Thank you to everyone who wore a touch of orange and donated a gold coin to support this wonderful organisation.
A special thank you to our Student Voice Team, who shared the Friendship Day message at assembly. They reminded us that friendships help make our school a happy, safe and welcoming place, and encouraged everyone to continue showing kindness, including others and helping others feel like they belong.
Research shows that positive friendships play a significant role in children's wellbeing. Strong friendships help children develop confidence, resilience, a sense of belonging and greater engagement at school. By providing opportunities for students to connect, collaborate and build positive relationships, we are helping to create a school community where every child feels valued, supported and included.
We hope the learning and experiences from Friendship Day inspire our students to continue building positive friendships and showing kindness to others every day.
