Spring Concert A Success! 

Showcasing incredible musical talent, our annual Spring Concert held on 22 October was a huge success.

Attended by families and friends of students at the DSC Performance Centre, all school ensembles took the stage in front of a sell-out audience, performing captivating pieces from a range of musical genres.

The program featured performances by the Concert Band, two VCE bands, Stringworks, Guitar Ensemble, Junior Jazz, Soundworks, Senior Jazz, Snare Duet, Senior Orchestra, Chamber Strings and Wind Symphony.

All ensembles played beautifully, including our VCE groups who did themselves proud with their outstanding performances.

A highlight of the evening was the finale, that featured 150 students coming together on stage to perform Smoke on the Water.

Congratulations to all students for their hard work throughout the year. Special thanks also to the instrumental staff; the DSC principal team; comperes Chris M-C, 12E and Anja D, 11B;  tech crew Ryan W, 9H, Skylah B, 11F and Archie G-W, 11J;  and photographer Day R-T, 9G.

Judging by the fantastic feedback from parents, the Spring Concert was a resounding success and as always, a highlight on the College calendar. Well done everyone!

Soundworks at the Victorian Schools Music Festival

Soundworks will be our last band performing at the Victorian Schools Music Festival on the Monday, 11 November at the Hawthorn Arts Centre. Theirs is a late afternoon performance and entry is free so anyone interested in attending is welcome. They will be at the venue between 5pm and 7:15pm and will be performing three songs that they have been working on this term. Students will be bussed to and from the venue.

2020 Ensemble Auditions

We will shortly be auditioning for 2020 ensembles during week 6 and 7. We will have a break from ensemble rehearsals (except Soundworks) for two weeks while auditions are being held and then our 2020 ensembles will begin rehearsals in Week 8. Audition Learning Tasks will be appearing on Compass soon and audition time sheets will be up in week 5 for sign-ups.
