A message from the Principal
A few years ago, Pope Francis encouraged us to live life more like it is Christmas and less like it is Good Friday. Pope Francis was, and still is, encouraging us to live our lives with joy!
Of course, Good Friday commences a 4-day Easter weekend for all Australians, however, for Catholics it is the start of the most important and holiest feast of the year. It is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is a time of great joy, hope, and renewal, and is marked by many blessings.
Easter concludes the season of Lent, a time of spiritual renewal. Also, Easter offers an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of Christ's death and resurrection, and to renew our commitment to living a life of faith and service to others. For us at Chevalier, an MSC school, it allows us the chance to reflect on how we can engage with a Spirituality of the Heart so that each one of us can have a positive impact on others.
Easter Sunday signals a time of great joy and tremendous celebration. Catholics celebrate the resurrection of Christ with feasting, music and prayer. It is a time to gather with family and friends, to share stories and memories, and to enjoy the blessings of life.
Overall, Easter is a time of great hope. Whether we are Catholic or not, hope is vital for all of us in that it allows us to look forward with optimism. Christ's resurrection is a sign of God's love for humanity, and the promise of new beginnings.
May you and your families enjoy the Blessings of Easter.
In conclusion, “thank you” one and all for a great start to the 2023 school year. I look forward to all students returning to school, looking the part by looking the part – hair tidy, make up in check, minimal jewellery, proper uniform - on Wednesday 26 April.
Happy Easter,
Mr Greg Miller
Principal
