Reid House Report – Term 1, 2023

Reid House has made a tremendous start to the year. The House Leaders, spearheaded by the Reid Captains, Ella L and Mitchell S, conducted an informative and inspiring meeting in Week 2 in preparation for the College Swimming Carnival in Week 3. The Reid war cries could be heard across the school. This obviously paid off as the cheering and support provided by the members of Reid House was definitely the best on the day of the carnival, not only shown through enthusiasm but also in stamina. Whilst we did not place amongst the carnival winners, it was very pleasing to see the number of students who gained points for Reid by involving themselves in races and novelty events.

Recently, Reid held its annual St Patrick’s Day Cake Stall, although it unfortunately could not be held on the feast day because of the Mid-Term Break. Once again, the Reid Leaders impressed with their enthusiasm in drumming up support from the Reid Home Rooms who donated the items for sale, and in setting up, running the stall and packing up on the day. Whilst the contributions did not seem as plentiful as last year, Reid House managed to raise $434.60 which has been donated to Caritas as part of the Lenten collections. Thanks must also go to our Social Justice Captains, William C and Annelise H for their assistance.
