Year 8 and 10 - Open Parachute

Year 8 and 10 students will be participating in an online wellbeing program called Open Parachute. Open Parachute creates online mental health and wellbeing programs for Australian K-12 students. The program is sponsored by the Guy and Jules Sebastian Foundation.

The programs are designed by a team of Clinical Psychologists and educators, so that the support which normally only takes place for a few students in a therapy office is now translated into easily accessible learning activities for every student in class.

All students have participated in an anonymous and confidential pre-program survey which will help inform the modules the students participate in.

During Term 1 Year 8 will complete the module: Bullying and Boundary Setting.   Year 10 will complete the module: Adversity and Resilience.  The program will be delivered by members of the wellbeing team.  It is planned that other year groups will undergo aspects of the program throughout the year.

Parents and Carers Community Forum

Wednesday 15 March - 7.00 to 8.30pm

The Community Forum will commence with a look forward as to what education might look like in 3-5 years and how that might impact Chevalier College. There will be an opportunity for parents and cares to reflect and provide insights and feedback.

Our community forum can provide an opportunity for parents and carers to share their thoughts, ideas, and pose their questions about the future of education at Chevalier College. This feedback can help school leaders, teachers and staff better understand the needs and expectations of the community and inform future decision-making processes. Through collaboration and partnership between parents and carers, and the College, a more coordinated and cohesive approach to the future of education will benefit our students and your children.

Book your spot by Monday 13 March: https://events.humanitix.com/parent-and-carer-community-forum

School Student Transport Scheme - Picton

The Picton Buslines School Student Transport Scheme (SSTS) moratorium free travel period for 2023 has now expired. The moratorium period was provided to allow eligible students who have not yet received a student bus pass to receive one.

From 27 February 2023, all students who catch a Picton Buslines bus will be required to present to the driver their physical 2023 Picton Buslines School Bus Pass, for every trip. They will not accept photos of bus passes taken on students’ phones. Please make sure your child has the pass ready to show to the driver as they board the bus. If a bus pass is not presented, the students must pay the required cash fare.

Students who have not yet applied for a 2023 Bus Pass, can still do so via this link. Students who are not eligible for free school travel via SSTS can pay for a Term Pass by contacting Picton Buslines here. Students who have applied, received the approval email but have not received a 2023 Bus Pass should also contact Picton Buslines.

Further information and terms and conditions of School Bus Passes can be found via TfNSW, using the TfNSW link. For any questions or concerns that cannot be resolved via the TfNSW link above, please contact Picton Buslines directly
