As we finished the first term of 2023, we gathered together to commemorate Holy Week and celebrate Easter. Our Holy Week & Easter Liturgy theme, taken from the book of Lamentations, was "God’s Love is as sure as the Sunrise." It was inspired by the beautiful backdrop setting which was created by our Art enrichment students. They designed a stunning sunrise scene which is symbolic of the vibrancy and exhilaration of birth, growth, new beginnings, creation, and the call to live life to the full.
The wonder and awe of sunrise reflects Resurrection – which invites us to stand up, go forward with hope and love – to turn darkness into light and despair into joy, and to open-heartedly rise to new life, living Jesus’ message of love.
Our Liturgy concluded with the Chevalier College Community saying the following blessing together. We offer this blessing to all the families and friends of Chev.
Lord Jesus,
You call us to a life of love.
Give us eyes with which to recognise
your presence in the world around us.
Sharpen our vision so that we see within the
ordinary events of each day the
extraordinary reality of your love.
Brighten our view of the world with renewed
hope as we work to make your Kingdom come.
Soften our gaze so that we can view others with the
kindness, tenderness and compassion you
showed to so many.
May each day of the Easter season provide
glimpses of your love through the compassion
and dedication we see in those around us.
May others see in us the clarity of You alive in our world,
through what we do, say and think.
May we rest in the comfort and knowledge that you, Jesus,
watch us and guide us with your loving eyes, gentle hands
and compassionate heart.
