Meet Our Staff
Sara Villiers
Head of Pegasus House
Sara joined Nossal High School at the start of 2020, following nine years teaching at another school. She is currently teaching 9-10 HPE, and Health and Human Development. She is the Pegasus Head of House, and oversees the school's dedicated pastoral care program called Nossal Time, where students develop the knowledge and skills to be socially capable members of the community. She has a strong background in curriculum and teacher education, having taught teachers at University in the past, and as a Specialist Health Teacher with the VCAA. She is currently taking part in the Teaching Excellence Program with the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Learning. Sara shares her passion for learning, from both a teacher and student perspective, alongside general wellbeing of all. She loves to watch her students develop themselves academically, but most importantly support them to be resilient, kind and empathetic people, who will create a better world for all.
Bradley Monaco
Phoenix House Leader
Bradley joined Nossal as a teacher of Chemistry and Biology in 2018, after spending some time at the school over the two years prior as a pre-service teacher and as a casual relief teacher. He was Year 9 Leader for two years before commencing his current role as Phoenix Head of House in 2021. Brad welcomes questions from Phoenix students and parents who would like to know more about the wellbeing supports available to them at Nossal.
Leigh Jose
Garuda House Leader
Leigh Jose has been with the school since 2012 and is another staff member whose first experience of the school was as a pre-service teacher. His earliest contributions to the school were as an innovative and reflective teacher of mathematics, and this is a role which he continues to pursue with skill and dedication. He has also been an important member of the Wellbeing Team for many years, serving first as Head of Pegasus House and, with colleague and co-recipient of the 2020 Nossal Staff Fellowship, Jessica Ball, recently completed a Monash University Professional Certificate of Adolescent Counselling. In 2022 he has committed himself to using his skills to support the students of Garuda House, and he welcomes questions from both the students and parents of that house.
Kane Armistead
Acting Head of Griffin House
Kane Armistead recently joined the Nossal staff this year in the Humanities Domain and is also the current acting Head of Griffin House. In Semester 2 2021, he accepted an offer to study a Masters of Inclusive Education through the Victorian Department of Education’s Inclusive Education Scholarship Program. This degree focuses on the most current evidence-based approaches to ensure that all diverse and inclusive student learning needs are catered for. As well as fulfilling these commitments, Kane is also taking an active role in supporting the Nossal badminton and table tennis teams to become the best they can be after playing at a state-level for both of these sports as a junior many years ago.
Jessica Ball
Acting Director of VCE
Jessica joined Nossal High School in 2015 as a Maths teacher and now teaches Science, Biology and Maths. She has been the Griffin Head of House for the past 4 years and is looking forward to challenging herself as the new Acting Director of VCE. Jessica has a passion for student wellbeing and recently completed the Monash University Professional Certificate of Adolescent Counselling as part of the 2020 Nossal Staff Fellowship. She hopes to be training up one of Nossal’s therapy dogs later this year with her Border Collie, Mya.
Sharon Blyth
Receptionist/
Accounts Receivable
Sharon joined Nossal High School in March this year as the Receptionist / Accounts Receivable Officer. She previously worked at Cranbourne Secondary College, as a Communications Officer, creating all publications including the College magazine, flyers, signage and was responsible for the College website and all relevant social media sites. Prior to that, Sharon worked in Local Government for 23 years as the Online and Graphic Communications Officer, producing brochures, booklets, publications and was responsible for the maintenance of the external website and internal intranet. Sharon has a love of photography and previously ran her own Photography and Design business. Sharon is an advocate for Fight Parkinson’s (formally known as Parkinson’s Victoria) and passionately supports the Melbourne Football Club. Sharon is happy to assist you with any reception or accounts receivable questions.
Sheren Hawking
First Aid Officer
Sheren has been working at Nossal High School since 2014. First as the Food Technology Assistant, then as Front Office Admin Support - Receptionist and First Aide Officer. She enjoys the buzz of a school and working with young people. Her duties include first aid with both students and staff, organising buses for excursions, responsible for lost property collection and assists with accounts receivable. She also supports the Sports Department with administrative tasks and data entry of incursions and excursions onto Compass.
Christine Weller
VASS Coordinator &
VCE Assistant
Christine joined the Nossal team in 2011 as an office administrator. She has extensive experience in all aspects of an office setting including reception, accounts and purchasing. She currently works within VCE and Careers such as administrative tasks for Senior School and welcomes any queries regarding student VCE VASS records and Work Experience.
Nisha Kaushal
Accounts Payable
Nisha joined Nossal High School as a Food Technology Assistant in 2018. In 2019, she had the opportunity to join the admin team as a Accounts Payable Officer. She also assisted with First Aid and Anaphylaxis training previously. Nisha’s role as Accounts Payable Officer involves making all sort of payments on behalf of the school. Nisha would love to say hi to you when you are in the front office area.
