The Year of Felicity
It gives me great pleasure to welcome our year of Felicity for 2026. There is an obvious connection between myself and the value for this year. More so, it is a timely for us as a College community as we embark on our 151st year with great joy and happiness. As our alumni and Loreto sister Trish Franklin CJ (1968) recently told me “there is absolutely nothing wrong with being happy!” This was evident in our first day of 2026 as we celebrated as College community or Opening School Mass. Watching our year 7s and 12s proudly process in together, our newest members receiving their House Badge and our Year 12 students receiving their year 12 badge, there is always something very special in this celebration. It was wonderful to see so many proud parents and family in attendance.
Term 1 is a very busy term for us in regards to our Lenten season and our JPIC leaders are already set and ready for fundraising for Caritas: Project Compassion with Shrove Tuesday, sausage sizzle at our Swimming Carnival and our Easter Egg Raffle Bonanza! We look forward to the many opportunities when we will gather again as a community for our Ash Wednesday Liturgy and also our much loved Easter Liturgy. We love the fact that so many students want to be part of our social justice and liturgy teams and we encourage
As ever, our reflection days are on for various year levels which are much looked forward and thoroughly enjoyed by those that attend. We are mindful that these days are days of exploring our Catholic faith, understanding our place in the world and celebrating who we are as people of Loreto.
In 2026 we are focused on our leadership program. Our students have much capacity in this area and there are so many opportunities for them to grow as leaders. We would love it if all parents and carers speak to their child about accepting the challenge of leadership and looking for opportunities where the can explore this in our community. It is not always about the badge.
We look forward to this year of Felicity.
