Vic Park Sampling
By Nethara - Year 10
On 3 February, the Year 10 Environmental Science class visited Vic Park to commence the fieldwork for our upcoming report. At the site, we carried out several water quality tests on the lake, measuring parameters including pH, temperature, turbidity, nitrogen, and phosphate. These assessments aimed to evaluate the health of the waterway and its ability to sustain aquatic life.
Back in the classroom, we will continue our investigation by analysing soil samples collected from the site, further exploring environmental conditions such as nutrient availability. Both our field and laboratory findings will form the basis of our final report. I enjoyed the fieldwork as it allowed us to spend time outdoors and we saw six ducks!
