Principal's Report 

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all of the families who came along to our Education Week Expo event last Tuesday. It was a great turn out with loads of activities on offer, and it was so nice to see mums, dads, grandparents and carers taking part in these activities with their children or grandchildren. Having family members value education and instil that value in their children is a wonderful thing.  

At a recent assembly, all students were reminded about road safety. They were reminded to only cross at the school crossing, or with an adult present. Students were reminded not to get out of the car on the road side of the vehicle, and they were reminded to be extra careful around roads in general. For their safety, please reinforce these messages with your children, and if you drive your children to school, please be a positive role model for all of their sakes. 

This week we farewell 50 grade three and four students as they make their way to Cave Hill Creek for their bush camp. Hopefully the weather is kind to them as they canoe, climb, build and explore the bushland surrounding the camp. A huge thank you to the parents who are going along to help out, and to the staff for spending time away from their own families so our students can have this experience. 

We have noticed an increasing number of students arriving at school well before supervision begins. We remind families that staff yard duty and student supervision commence at 8:45 each morning. Students should not be on school grounds prior to this time unless attending an approved supervised program.

We ask all families to support the school by ensuring students arrive no earlier than 8:45am. Your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and well-supervised environment for all students is appreciated.

Finally, a reminder that June 8 is the King's Birthday public holiday, followed by a pupil free day on Tuesday June 9. TheirCare is available on the 9th, however the school will be closed on the public holiday. Please plan for this four day break accordingly.
