Sustainability and Gardening Club

This fortnight we collected over 200 bottles and cans, as well as 30 litres of compost.  This is a great effort in helping our school increase our sustainability.

In Gardening Club we have been re-potting plants to sell for Mother’s Day. We are focusing on cultivating plants, and sharing knowledge on how to re-pot and look after plants.  We are continuing to collect vegetables from our summer crops, including cucumbers and squash.

Several junior gardeners also began planting succulents into the Fatima Centre's raised garden bed.  We are very impressed with their efforts!

Unfortunately our school Clean Up day has been postponed due to the weather, so we are moving it later into the year.  More details will be provided in coming days.

We are currently collecting data as part of our Ride to School day activities. Last week 28 students rode to school, 46 children walked and 345 children drove.   This week 94 students rode, 93 children walked and 225 drove.  This was a fantastic result.  With rising fuel prices, all students are encouraged to find alternate ways to travel to and from school while being active (and saving their parents money!). Further, this can save parents loads of time instead of sitting in traffic. Please support your child in coming to school by foot or bike.
