Sport

Students across all year levels have been actively developing their PE skills, confidence and teamwork through a range of engaging activities, and it has been wonderful to see such enthusiasm and effort during lessons.

Our Prep students have been building their fundamental movement skills through fun ball activities focused on rolling, catching and kicking. Students have practised rolling balls to partners, aiming for targets and knocking down cones while learning how to control speed and accuracy. They have also explored catching safely and kicking with control through games and small group challenges. Lessons have included plenty of opportunities for practice, teamwork and reflection, with students proudly sharing how their skills are improving each week.

Year 1/2 students have been developing their kicking and striking skills through Ball Chasing and Kicking activities, station rotations and partner goal kicking challenges. The focus has been on improving accuracy by pointing toes down and following through. Students have combined skills in small games and team challenges, building confidence while practising cooperation and encouraging one another.

Students in Years 3–6 have been working on invasion game skills through quick passing drills and small-sided games. The focus has been on accurate passing and receiving, moving into space to support teammates, and developing defensive strategies. Lessons have encouraged communication, teamwork and game awareness, with students applying their skills in modified games. Next, students will begin our Athletics unit, with Years 3–6 preparing for the upcoming Athletics Carnival. We are looking forward to continuing to build skills, confidence and participation as we move into this exciting unit.

In interschool sport, our Grade 5/6 students have had a fantastic time representing the school in Soccer, Cricket and Girls’ AFL 9’s. Students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the competitions, and a special congratulations goes to the boys’ soccer team who finished the day in second place — a wonderful achievement! ⚽
