Sports teams flying the flag for BSC
BSC Sports Program
Another big term of sport has come to a conclusion. Our badminton teams, headed up by Mr Chen, came runners up in the senior and intermediate division and showed great results in the weekly PASE competition at year 7 and 8, with our teams only losing one game each for the term.
Our senior netball team fought out a very tough day of matches and finished up as the runners up narrowly missing bringing home the flag.
In a huge result our senior soccer boys were able to go one better. After very tense matches in the semi final versus Parkdale and the final versus McKinnon, the flag belonged to Brighton with a 2-1 result.
The boys coached by Mr Gatley and Mr Chalk will head to the regional finals early next term with a state title firmly on their mind.
Our House athletics carnival was a great day out, lots of amazing costumes and some great performances on the track. We had 3 records broken, the 13 girls triple jump (Taya PODDUBNAIA), the 15 girls 100m (Pei Wen KHOO) and the 17 boys shot put (Caspar Seeman). Congratulations to the overall winners Goldstein.
Away from school sport Brighton Secondary College would also like to acknowledge Noah Ross who has been selected as an All Australian in Gridiron. After a very successful state team performance Noah will wear the Green and Gold in the coming weeks.
