Candlelight Soirée showcase student talent
The Semester 1 Candlelight Soirée returned in spectacular fashion this year with not one, but two unforgettable evenings of music.
Held in our school’s performing arts space, both concerts – one dedicated to vocal excellence and the other to the talents of our instrumentalists – highlighted the incredible musical skill and passion of our students.
The Vocal Soirée on Tuesday night saw our choir groups, solo vocalists, and small ensembles take to the stage under a soft glow of candlelight, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere.
From classic ballads to contemporary hits, each performance was delivered with confidence, emotion and true artistry. Students truly shone under the lights, capturing the hearts of the audience, which included proud families, friends and staff.
On Thursday evening, the Instrumental Soirée featured our senior band, small ensembles and solo instrumentalists in a powerful celebration of musical diversity. Whether performing stirring classical pieces or upbeat modern compositions, students played with energy, precision and pride. The skill on display was truly outstanding, with every note a testament to weeks of rehearsal and dedication.
Both evenings were a glowing reminder of the value of music education and the joy of live performance. Congratulations to every student who took to the stage – your courage, talent and teamwork were inspiring. Your efforts made both concerts a true celebration of the arts.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to our music staff, accompanists and the many organisers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. These events would not be possible without your passion, support and leadership.
We can’t wait to see – and hear – the events again next semester!
