Certificate III Music

The Certificate III in Music students helped set the scene for our Father’s Day Breakfast on Thursday, 3 September, providing live music for students, fathers and guests to enjoy.

The performance gave our talented music students a wonderful opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a live audience whilst contributing to the warm and celebratory atmosphere of the morning.

It was a fantastic way to celebrate Father’s Day and a great opportunity for our Certificate III students to share their talents with the Lumen Christi College community.

Fee Free Courses – Year 12 Students

There has been an increase in enrolments since courses were made fee free in 2023. This includes:

Certificate IV in Preparation for Health and Nursing Studies increased by 153 per cent
Certificate IV in Youth Work increased by 100 per cent
Business Ready Skill Set increased by 52 per cent
Certificate IV in Horticulture increased by 31 per cent
Certificate IV in Cyber Security increased by 26 per cent

If you are in Year 12 and wanting to achieve a VET qualification post-school, you can start by enrolling in units in the fee-free courses.

Thornlie Jobs and Skills Centre Trade Career Expo

Job seekers, apprentices, pre-apprentices, and local students from TAFEs, schools and universities from the south metropolitan Perth area are invited to come and speak with employers and apprenticeship organisations about starting careers in these industries.

What you’ll discover:

The Careers Expo will provide information on:
Insights into local companies and service providers
Rewarding trade-related careers and work roles
Apprenticeships, traineeships, and work experience
Employer job requirements, values and expectations

Readiness Assessment

Several of our students will be completing the Readiness Assessment next week, with the hope of securing a place at the College of Electrical Training.

Entry into the course is highly competitive, and we are pleased to support our students as they prepare for this important opportunity.
