News from 3/4

This week, 3/4 learnt how to send an email to their teacher. They learnt the importance of typing the address accurately and including a subject line so the email didn't end up in the Spam folder! Students were asked to share what they have enjoyed doing at school this week and what they are looking forward to. These are some of their sentences.

Mila ~ I am looking forward to reading the end of Uncle Xbox.

Ivy ~ At school, I have been reading Uncle Xbox with my class. I have also been working on my joins because I want to get my pen licence. I'm looking forward to trying basketball for the first time at Hooptime. I am NOT looking forward to Miss Cooper leaving for 6 WEEKS!

Annabelle ~  I love playing basketball because everyone plays fair. 

I am looking forward to playing hoop time with all my friends. I can't wait to read the end of Uncle Xbox. 🦒🦒🦒🦒🦒🦒🦒

Olivia ~ At school today, sport was really fun because we played table tennis. I'm excited for Art next week because we might be painting our masks!

River ~ At school, I have been playing gaga with my friends.

Xavier ~ At school, I like Uncle Xbox novel. I am looking forward to sport every week.

Charlie ~ At school I have been playing Gaga with my friends. River and I are the champions. I am ready to play in hoop time.

Liam ~ At school, I have been playing Gaga, and I am looking forward to play hoop time.

Darcie ~ At school I like playing Gaga because it is fun to play with my friends.

I am looking forward to Hooptime and playing with my friends more often.

Sophie ~ At school, I am looking forward to doing stuff like maths, finishing Uncle Xbox. And learning more touch typing! I haven't figured out book week, although I've done Japanese day either way, I'm excited! And I wanna learn more about commas and full stops. And other things!

Oscar ~ At school, I have been spending some of my time doing handwriting. I think I've improved alot and I have gotten neater. Also, I have been playing basketball at playtime with small Harry, Bailey and big Mason.

Aleisha ~ I am enjoying playing in the Rainbow Playground.

Louisa ~ At school, I  have been playing GAGA!

Finley ~  I have been reading Uncle Xbox, and I am looking forward to the weekend. My sister is in the grand final, so I will cheer her on. I hope she wins and she gets a goal. Just to let you know, my friends have been really nice to me and I hope tomorrow is a good day.

Archer ~ At school, I am looking forward to getting a goal at hoop time. I'm looking forward to winning a Gaga game

Mason ~ At school I played basketball with Oscar and some others today. I love touch-typing.

Taylor ~ At school, I've been liking Sport, Art, Japanese and STEAM. I am looking forward to Hooptime on the 18th of August.

Brooklyn ~ At school, I have been learning the sound g and my tricky words, and I know then they, are, the, is, I, a, my. I am looking forward to hooptime next week.

Aleah ~ At school, I have been doing maths pretty well, and I am excited to go to hoop time

Evie ~ At school, I have been enjoying playing basketball at lunchtime. I'm having fun playing with my friends. I am looking forward to playing hooptime with my class, having fun and hopefully winning!

Rory ~  I play Gaga with Louisa. I am looking forward to hoop time. I hope I do well.

Hudson ~ At school, I have been practicing touch typing. I am looking forward to going undefeated in hooptime! And swishing 3s.

Adera ~ At school, I have been loving doing algorithms (I really want to do subtraction algorithms with regrouping 😣!!!) and doing maths. I also like playing tag, soccer, and gaga.

Maths

Over the past two weeks, students have been practising solving addition and subtraction problems using a range of strategies such as concrete materials (MAB blocks), bar models, compensation and the column algorithm. They have been working hard developing greater fluency with these different methods. 

Handwriting

Excitement is brewing in 3/4, with many students working hard to earn their 'pen licence' – an acknowledgement of their hard work and consistency in using joined writing across all their written work. Here is some of this week's handwriting practice.
