Maths Fluency
This week, for our Maths Fluency Practice, we moved on to practising the skill of partitioning a whole into two groups. The Foundation students are using Ninja Sliders, which are beads attached to pipe cleaners. Firstly we have started off with three beads and partitioned them into two groups. They move the beads to verbalise the groups: 3 & 0 makes 3, 2 & 1 makes 3, 1 & 2 makes 3, 0 & 3 makes 3. Once they can verbalise these groups, they will move on to partitioning 4, 5 & 6.
Literacy Fluency
On Wednesdays in Foundation, we are spending the morning doing Literacy Fluency! The Foundation students enjoyed engaging with hands-on tasks, practising all the sounds they know by making and reading words using different materials! This is a great way for them to get quicker at blending and writing, and of course makes them feel successful! Well done Foundations!
Inquiry
In Inquiry this week, the F/1/2 students created posters about a chosen Farm Animal. WE spent the session learning about Farm Animals and that the majority of them have a purpose to produce something. The F/1/2's researched their chosen animal to learn interesting facts! Great teamwork F/1/2's!
We are excited to announce that we have two Inquiry excursions planned for this term coming up!!
- A Visit to the Sandersons Farm in Gladysdale (Thursday 27th August) - Students will be getting a bus from School
- Melbourne Aquarium (Thursday 17th September)- Students will need to be dropped off/picked up at Lilydale station
Stay posted on Nforma and in your emails for more information!
