Firefighters Visit BNPS!
On Tuesday 17 June, the Prep students were thrilled to welcome some very special visitors—our local firefighters! They came to teach us all about fire safety and the important work they do.
We had the chance to see all the gear firefighters wear when they're fighting fires. One firefighter even put on all of his protective clothing and equipment, which was very exciting to see up close!
We also learned about what makes fire safe or dangerous, and the different ways we can stay safe around fire. One very important tip was to always have a safe meeting place outside our homes in case of a fire or emergency.
A big thank you to the firefighters for such an informative and fun visit!
Year 5 Buddies
The Year 5 buddies came and watched and danced with the preps as they practiced for their performance for Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day.
Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day Celebration
Prep A
On Wednesday 18 June, Prep had a very special morning celebrating Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day! It was a wonderful opportunity to show the important people in our lives just how much they mean to us.
Prep B
As part of our new Unit of Inquiry, Where We Are in Place and Time, we’ve been exploring families, traditions, and how things change over time. This special event helped bring our learning to life.
Prep C
We performed many songs with actions, and each student had a turn on the microphone to share, “I love my grandparents and special friends because…” Our final performance was Cover Me in Sunshine, which we sang using sign language to make it even more meaningful. Our visitors were very proud and took lots of photos!
After the performance, we enjoyed a lovely morning tea together in our classrooms. Many of us also shared our workbooks and favourite activities with our guests.
Our teachers are so proud of how confidently we performed and shared this special day with our loved ones!
Year 5 Exhibition
The prep students loved visiting their buddies and looking at their Year 5 Exhibition last Thursday.
