Teacher Interview - Silvi Levine

Interview with Silvi Levine Year 6 Teacher
How long have you worked at BNPS?
I have been working at BNPS for 10 years and feel very lucky to be part of a school with so many hardworking and dedicated teachers. Their genuine love and passion for teaching makes coming to work every day easy.
What inspired you to be a teacher?
I have fond memories of my childhood teachers and the positive influence they had on my life. Seeing my own children have similar experiences with their teachers inspired me to give back and contribute to the community in the same way.
If you weren't a teacher, what career would have you pursued?
I would like to be a librarian. I have a love of books.
What is your favourite thing to do on weekends?
Watch my children play sport and go to the G to cheer for the Mighty Magpies.
If you could go on a holiday anywhere in the World, where would you go?
Spain – I have a Spanish background, and I love the food, music, culture and people of Spain.
What is something that your students might be surprised to learn about you?
That I can speak Spanish fluently and danced Flamenco around Melbourne in my 20’s.
What recently made you smile?
My students make me smile every day.
What would you like to say to the students at BNPS?
Keep trying, stay strong, and never stop learning. You can do hard things!
