2025 Footy Tipping Competition

Most people tipped the same this week, so given there were a couple of upsets most people scored 5/7. There were however a few exceptions with Cole N (Year 8) tipping all seven winners and being this week’s winner of the $50 and a further six people tipping 6/7.

With regard to the overall leaderboard, things remain very tight at the top with six people on 76 with a further six people on 75.

Round 13

Round 13, starts Thursday night and concludes Monday with the Big Freeze game and it looks like a tough round of fixtures.

Western Bulldogs v Hawthorn – 9th v 6th

Hawthorn is in a bit of a form slump having lost their last three games, so they’ll be fired up. The Bulldogs are coming off the bye so will be freshened up. Should be a good game to start the round;

Adelaide v Brisbane – 3rd v 2nd

Should be another belter. Is Adelaide a genuine top four prospect? Brisbane has two wins and a draw from the last four games played between these sides at the Adelaide Oval;

Richmond v Sydney – 16th v 14th

How did Richmond not beat GWS? How bad are Sydney right now? The last four games played between these sides at the MCG are split 2-2;

Geelong v Gold Coast – 5th v 4th

As best as I can tell Gold Coast has never beaten Geelong down in Geelong;

GWS v Port Adelaide – 7th v 15th

This game is being played in Canberra. Port has lost four in a row but are coming off the bye. GWS’ form line is a bit difficult to predict;

North Melbourne v West Coast – 17th v 18th

This game is being played down in Bunbury, so that certainly increases West Coast’s chances. Both sets of supporters will be hopeful of a win, which doesn’t happen often;

Carlton v Essendon – 13th v 10th

Carlton has won four of the last five clashes between these sides at the MCG. Carlton coming off the bye, must win if they hope to make the top 8. Essendon were surprisingly good after quarter time against Brisbane; and

Melbourne v Collingwood – 12th v 1st

Collingwood has won six of the last seven clashes between these sides at the MCG and come into this game as hot favourites especially after Melbourne’s disappointing loss to St Kilda. Don’t forget to buy your beanie and support the fight against MND.
