What’s Happening in Careers?

Year 10

Our MyPath subject selection presentations are almost complete - HASS and Religious Education will complete the series in extended form on Tuesday 24 June.

This week we had a presentation from the Arts Department. The PowerPoints for these presentations will be emailed to students and parents so you can review them at home and discuss the options.

The event planning for our exciting MyPath week in Week 10 is in full swing. There is a great range of events to help the boys broaden their understanding of their subject selection and career options.

This is an overview of what the week will look like for them:

Year 11

We wish all of our Year 11 students great success in the exams or in workplace learning.

Year 12

Our Year 12s are also out on WPL, working on their Certificate IVs or sitting exams. We hope they are all coping well and enjoying the challenge these tasks demand.

TISC

TISC is now open.

The boys have had one presentation on the application process and how their ATAR results are determined. Following the exams there will be a second session where I will walk them through the application process. However, if they have further questions they should seek help from the Careers team.

Registration is online and a fee of $95 is payable before they can set up their preferences. These preferences can be changed as many times as they like before the offers round.

Notre Dame University Young Achievers Early Offer Program!

Students can also apply directly to Notre Dame for an Early Offer through their Young Achievers Early Offer Program. Complete a program application via their online application form.

For Curtin, ECU, Murdoch and UWA, your TISC application is your early offer application, subject to closing dates. If your first TISC preference is eligible for an early offer, the application will be assessed. These universities will make early offers on set dates. Refer to the TISC calendar for specific dates.

The universities have all listed their Open Days. Register using these links and plan your day so you can make the most of the offerings. It is really important that the boys get on campus and ask lots of questions before they make final decisions.

There is a wealth of information on this site, where students can explore in depth to find out more about the careers and industries they are interested in. It has job seeker resources like resume and cover letter templates, tips for writing cover letters and job applications, and preparing for job interviews, as well as information for parents and carers to help you support your child to learn about the world of work and explore careers.
