ACC Cross Country Carnival 2025

On a perfect day at Perry Lakes Reserve, the Mazenod College Cross Country team proudly represented the blue and white. Competing against a strong field of schools from across the state. The team finished 14th overall in the Boys' category from 48 Colleges, a commendable effort reflecting the depth and determination of our runners.

While the competition was fierce, several individual performances stood out:

  • Riley G showcased experience and consistency, finishing 22nd in the U19 age group
  • Thomas D delivered an impressive run in the U16 category, claiming 20th place
  • Running above his age group, Samuel H stepped up from U16 to U19 and held his own admirably, finishing 35th
  • In the U15 race, Isaac M ran with great effort to secure 35th place
  • Alfie P capped off a tough U19 field with a solid run, finishing 49th

The day was not just about the placings but about representing Mazenod with pride, supporting teammates, and pushing personal limits. Every runner played their part, whether by shaving seconds off personal bests or digging deep to finish strong.

A special thanks to Mr Newman and Mr Mason for assisting the team on the day, and team coach Lachlan Scanlan Old Boy (24) who coached the team in preparation for the competition.

Junior Soccer: Mazenod v Kalamunda

Mazenod played their second game of the Schools Shield Competition against Kalamunda SHS at Kalamunda. The game started with Kalamunda striking quickly off a Mazenod turnover however Mazenod were able to equalize to go into the halftime break 1-1.

After dominating for long periods in the second half Kalamunda were able to score 3 more goals to take a 4-1 advantage with less than 10 minutes to go. We mounted an incredible fightback, scoring 3 quick goals, to leave the Kalamunda SHS team stunned. The highlight was the equalizing goal from Rafferty M, struck beautifully from long range!

The game finished 4 all.
