Clontarf Academy

Mr David Friebel, Clontarf Academy Director

It’s great to be back for a busy yet exciting Term 4, there is a lot for our boys to look forward to. It hasn’t taken long to get into the swing of things with a welcome back breakfast on Wednesday morning. This was a great chance to revisit some goals we have set for the term as well as have a chat about all of our events in the coming weeks.

After school on Wednesday, we hosted a session on driver safety. This session was part of our Road to 120 program which has been instrumental in providing opportunities for our boys to access driving lessons and develop confidence on the roads. A powerful part of the session was listening to firsthand stories of those that have been impacted by road trauma. Our boys left the session with a stronger sense of responsibility when it comes to driving.

One of the highlights for the term will no doubt be the State of Origin Carnival held in mid November. The Victorian team is set to be announced later today and a number of our boys will be a good chance of making the side after some strong performances at our training camp last term at Strath Creek. Stay tuned for more on this.

Our morning trainings are underway again and after a big feed this morning, we spun the wheel for Term 3’s top trainer with David Burgoyne being the lucky winner. The academy room has been a busy hub this week as the boys have been catching up from the holidays. Term 4 is always exciting and it's great to be back into it to finish 2024 off strongly.
