Junior School

Mr Tom Nash, Head of Junior School

Welcome back to Term 4! We hope that you and your son enjoyed a well-earned holiday break – they have settled into the routines and structures of school with aplomb.

This term is especially significant for our Year 8 students, as it marks their final term as Junior Schoolers – we are excited to support them as they navigate this next step in their educational journey.

As we embark on this final term of 2024, we encourage all our students to continue engaging in all aspects of their St. Patrick’s education – all the way through to the final day of term.

GRIT has been consistently referenced throughout the year. GRIT is defined as the combination of passion and perseverance and the students will need to demonstrate this through the term to engage fully through to the last bell of the year. We are excited to continue recognising those students who highlight GRIT with the GRIT Awards.

Supporting the students through this messaging will be important for ensuring a positive conclusion to the year and will lay a strong foundation for a successful 2025. Finish the year off well, boys.

On a separate note, please see some important reminders and upcoming events for your attention:

Uniform – students are reminded that they should only be wearing their sports uniform on days when they have a timetabled PE lesson. Important events such as whole – school assemblies require students to be dressed in their academic uniform. If your son has PE timetabled that day, they can arrange to get changed accordingly throughout the day. Please note that spray jackets are also not a part of the Term 4 uniform.

Year 8 Retreat – Year 8 students will enjoy their Retreat Day with their Homeroom on a day in Week 4. Specific information regarding your son’s involvement will come shortly.

Lion King Jnr Production – the cast and crew involved in the Lion King Jnr Production have been hard and work for the best part of a term. All Year 7 & 8 students will be fortunate to observe the matinee performance on November 27. We look forward to supporting this and to acknowledging the hard work that the students and staff involved have put it. The viewing of the matinee performance will happen during the school day.

As always, we thank you for your ongoing support and remind families and carers to not hesitate in making contact should you feel necessary.
