Year 9 and 10 Theatre Studies proudly presents ‘The 39 Steps Even More Abridged’

Years 9 and 10 Theatre Studies students have directed and created their own sound, lighting, set and costumes for this comedic adventure into the world of 1930s British espionage. ‘The 39 Steps Even More Abridged’ is a quick comedic romp around Britain in chase of information surrounding the mysterious ‘39 Steps’.  What could it possibly be? How on earth did a bored English civilian get caught up in the world of spies?  Students have worked hard to bring to life this Hitchcock styled story for one night only.

VCE Theatre Studies Monologue Exam

As part of VCE Theatre Studies, Year 12s are required to create a monologue interpretation that makes up 25 per cent of their final score for the subject. In Week 10 of last term the Loreto and St Pat’s students performed their monologues for a panel of teachers and an audience of family and peers, in a mock exam scenario to help them prepare. This has helped them inch ever closer to their final interpretation, which they will present to the VCAA examiners next Saturday, 19 October. We wish these students the best of luck as their hard work culminates in this important occasion!

2024 USA Performing Arts Tour

Although we can’t quite believe we are in Term 4 already, we also can’t wait until 6 December rolls around when we set off for America on the trip of a lifetime! Ms Allen, Mrs Bashford-Leger, Mr Peake and 13 performing arts students met this week to look over the updated itinerary which includes seeing four Broadway shows, going to the NBA, acting workshops, guided tours of Universal Studios, Warner Brothers Studios, Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall and a whole heap more. We fly into New York first with 10 jam-packed days followed by four nights in LA.

A reminder to those students attending, and their parents, that we have a pre-departure meeting on Tuesday, 12 November from 6:00-7:00pm in the PAC auditorium. See you then!
