Aqua House Day!

The HPE Department is pleased to announce that our annual Aqua House Day will take place on Monday the 1st of Feb 2027 (Week 2, Term 1 next year) at the Albany Creek Leisure Centre.

Aqua House Day has been redesigned to highlight participation, teamwork, and house spirit.

A wide range of inclusive, water-based activities will allow every student to contribute to their house points while enjoying a day of physical activity and fun.  We will also be adding in some further land-based activities which will be another opportunity for house points.  Students will attend during normal school hours and will have access to the waterslide, current pool, and surrounding leisure spaces throughout the day.

Due to the early full-school excursion, permission for this event will start to be distributed towards the end of 2026 in preparation for this event.

For Our Competitive Swimmers:

Students who wish to qualify for the District Swimming Carnival, compete for Age Champion, or pursue the representative pathway are invited to take part in a pre-event swim meet.

Location: Albany Creek Leisure Centre

Arrival Time: 7:45am

Events: 50m races in all four strokes

Conclusion: 9:45Am., prior to the commencement of the main Aqua House Day activities

Further details about this competitive session will be provided early next year.  It will require personal transport to Albany Creek Leisure Centre for this event. Students can then utilise the school transport for the return journey back to The Gap SHS in the afternoon.

A Day to Remember

Aqua House Day is about more than just swimming — it’s an opportunity for every student to get involved, try something new, and celebrate the strength of our school community.

Students are encouraged to bring their house colours, team spirit, and positive energy for what promises to be a memorable and enjoyable day for all.

Futsal National champs – Open girls

The Gap State High School would like to wish our Open Girls Futsal Team the very best of luck as they prepare to compete at the 2026 Futsal National Championships!

The team heads into the national tournament with high expectations following a dominant local campaign. After defeating Helensvale State High School in the Football Queensland (FQ) State Final, our girls secured the number one seed from Queensland, an outstanding achievement!

The National championships will run from Monday 23 November to Wednesday 25 November 2026, with all Open division matches held at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre.

Our team will face the top four finishing schools from New South Wales, alongside teams from the Northern State qualifiers, during the group stages before progressing to the knockout rounds.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, commitment and determination the girls have shown to earn their place on the national stage. We wish the entire team every success as they represent The Gap SHS against some of the best school futsal teams in the country.

Play with pride, back each other and make The Gap proud!

Go, Gap!

Football/ Futsal Trials

Attention current Year 7–11 students!

All current Year 7–11 students are encouraged to attend the relevant trials.
