Congratulations to our Year 12 Creative Gen 2026 award participants – Freya Mathieson, Charlie Elton, Seren Coyle and Tully Gooden. Our students exhibited their work at Super Ordinary Event Centre, Hamilton last week with family and friends celebrating and showcasing highly creative work across the Metropolitan North and South Region. Charlie and Seren were the recipients of a commendation award for their work.

Our artist-in-residence - printmaker Nancy Brown – is working with our Visual Art Studio class in Term 4 on Friday afterschool – upcycling and altering fabrics. Students started experimenting with stencil and block print processes – as well as dyeing fabrics and developing their own screen print designs.

Dr Renata Buziak presented her INTRODUCTION TO CYANOTYPES last Saturday. Participants engaged with the chemistry of this process with inspiring artistic results!
Renata will be offering the second of her workshops next month.
ADVANCED CYANOTYPES will be held on Saturday, 14 November 10am – 3 pm.
Learn advanced techniques while exploring a deeper connection with plants, place and the more-than-human world – where art and science meet.
Participants will: create unique prints on paper; create an image onto calico bag; learn to coat your own paper and fabric; experiment with wet cyanotype; explore bleaching and toning; receive guidance & knowledge to continue processes at home.
If interested, please see the details for more information and to register.
