Deputy Principal
Melissa Robertson - Year 7 and Year 12
As we move into Week 5 of Term 4, we are reminded that the final weeks of the school year are a time of celebration, reflection and renewed focus. There is still much to achieve, and I encourage every student to remain committed to their learning, demonstrate resilience and continue to make positive choices each day.
Celebrating Senior Excellence
It has been wonderful to celebrate the achievements and excellence of our senior students at the Excellence Evening in Week 3. Their hard work, perseverance and dedication are a reminder of what can be accomplished through consistent effort and a commitment to personal growth. We congratulate our seniors on their achievements and acknowledge the support of staff and families who have helped them along the way.
As we look ahead to our Year 12 Graduation in Week 7 and our Junior Excellence celebrations in Week 8, we look forward to recognising the achievements, progress and contributions of even more of our students. These occasions provide an important opportunity to celebrate not only academic success, but also personal growth, leadership, resilience and the positive impact students have on our school community.
Important Reminders
ID Cards and Bathroom Use
A few important reminders as we continue through the term:
ID cards: Students are expected to have their school ID cards with them and follow school procedures regarding their use. ID cards help us maintain a safe, organised and accountable learning environment. Students require their ID card to use bathrooms. If a replacement is required, please see staff in Upper Administration. Students are reminded to not share ID cards. They are accountable for their card and its use.
Bathroom use: Students are reminded to use bathroom facilities responsibly and respectfully, following school expectations and returning to class promptly. We ask everyone to help keep these spaces clean, safe and welcoming for all members of our community.
These expectations may seem small, but they contribute significantly to the smooth running of our school and the wellbeing of everyone on site.
Stay Focused. Stay Strong.
At this point in the term, it can be easy to feel tired, distracted or ready for the year to end. However, the way we finish matters just as much as the way we begin.
I encourage all students to stay focused on their goals, attend regularly, participate actively in lessons and continue to put forward their best effort. There will be challenges along the way, but strength is not about having everything figured out or managing every difficulty alone. It is about showing resilience, making positive choices and continuing to move forward, even when things feel difficult.
Remember that every lesson, every interaction and every decision is an opportunity to demonstrate the values we want to see in ourselves and others. Let us continue to show respect, take responsibility and support one another as we work towards the end of the year.
Reach Out Early – Support Is Available
A reminder to all students that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. If students are feeling overwhelmed, struggling with learning, managing personal challenges or simply unsure about next steps, please reach out early.
Teachers, Heads of Year, Wellbeing Staff and School Leadership are here to support your student. Seeking assistance early gives us the best opportunity to work together, identify strategies and ensure students feel supported to move forward with confidence.
Families are also encouraged to communicate with the school if they have concerns about their young person's progress, engagement or wellbeing. Strong partnerships between home and school make a real difference.
Looking Ahead
As we approach our Junior Excellence celebrations and Graduation, let us take the time to recognise the progress being made across our school community. Every achievement matters, whether it is a significant milestone, an improvement in effort, a moment of perseverance or a positive contribution to others.
Let us continue to encourage one another, celebrate success and remain focused on finishing the year with pride.
Stay focused. Stay strong. Ask for support when you need it. Finish well.
Thank you to our students, staff and families for your continued commitment and contribution to our school community.
