Dear Students, Parents/Carers and Staff,
Welcome to week 9! I bet we are all very excited for the upcoming holidays!

This week is a huge and important week on the school calendar as we recognise and celebrate RUOK Day. RUOK Day is a day that reminds us to check in on our friends, family, and loved ones; to ask how they are going, and to be prepared to listen to, and care for those around us. RUOK Day reminds us that one conversation can change a life, and we encourage you to visit https://www.ruok.org.au/ if you would like more information.
As a school, RUOK Day and week bring great awareness, and also great joy! So far… we’ve had the preps to grade 3s enjoy a performance from Brainstorm Productions – where they learned about the impacts of bullying, and how to support themselves and their friends in tough situations! STOP, FREEZE, BREATHE! And remember, PROTECTORS, PROTECT, POWERS, GO!
Our grade 4s and 5s will have the opportunity to engage with The Good Human Factory, who will deliver a workshop aimed at promoting growth and knowledge of key concepts such as self-awareness and management, social awareness, and mental health literacy.
And our year 7s and 8s will get to watch the hugely important Pat Cronin Foundation presentations; a deeply emotional story that reminds us that violence is never OK, and is never the answer.

Of course, we also have plenty more going on… morning circle activities, year 9 ambassadors, staff breakfasts and more!
We can’t wait for RUOK Day which will feature a host of activities ranging from hair chalk and bracelet making, to glitter tattoos and face painting; giant games, sports-based activities… and did someone say student vs teacher dodgeball! We’ll have a DJ, year level activities, and maybe a few surprises too! It’s sure to be a great day!

As always… don’t forget to check out what’s coming up on the holidays. With a host of activities running now might be a great time to see what’s available!
Melton Learning Directory are continuing to host a broad range of events that suit all schedules and run at all times of day, including all kinds of sports and social opportunities.
