Our Year 8 Visual Art students have taken up the carving tool to answer a big question:

 What does Australian cultural identity mean to you? 

Through the intricate and expressive medium of lino printing, students are translating their personal perspectives, lived experiences, and heritage into striking block prints.The process is demanding. 

Students begin by transferring detailed draft designs onto linoleum tiles before using gouges to cut away negative space, a technique that requires patience, precision, and a strong sense of spatial awareness. 

Once carved, the tiles are rolled with oil-based ink and hand-pressed onto paper, producing bold, high-contrast visual narratives.
