Passed away peacefully at Fairway Rise on March 29, 2026. Son of Jack and Beatrice (dec). Husband of Joy for 70 years. Father and father-in-law of Greg & Tammy, Brendan & Jan, David & Celina, Mark & Deb, and Fiona & James. Loved grandfather and great-grandfather. A cherished family man. 

Brother of Gerald (SVC 1945-49 dec.) and Kevin (SVC 1949-54 dec.)

DONOGHUE Peter John 01.05.1940 – 10.05.2026 (SVC 1951-1953)

Passed away peacefully at Fairway Rise.

Loved and loving husband of Bernice for 60 years.

Much loved father to Christine, Shane (SVC 1989-90), Gene and Bibi.

Father-in-law of Katy, Brett and Rowan.

Loving grandfather of his 8 grandchildren.

DOWNEY, Maxwell 08/07/1947 - 11/04/2026 (SVC 1961-1962)

Known as ‘Security Max’ given his profession as a locksmith.

Passed away peacefully on 11 April, aged 78.

Loved and loving father of Rachaelle, Poppy to Charlotte, and Great Poppy to be. 

We miss you terribly, always in our hearts.

DWYER, Rex James 21.08.1930 – 22.05.2026 (SVC 1942-46)

Passed away peacefully in his 96th year on May 22, 2026.

Youngest son of Mary and Sydney Dwyer.

Loving husband of Fay (dec), father and father-in-law of Michael (SVC 1969-73) and Maria, Pauline (dec), Brendan (dec. SVC 1970-79) and Rosemary, Coleman (SVC 1971-76) and Jill, Bernard (SVC 1975-80) and Maryann, Rex (dec. SVC 1978-83) and Karen and John (SVC 1981-87) and grandfather of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loving father and role model.

GIAMEOS, John (Yianni) 17.09.1961 - 07.05.2026 (SVC 1971-77)

Passed away surrounded by his family, aged 64.

Cherished father of Mannie and Maria.

Loving brother to Kaye and Anna.....

Forever remembered and sadly missed by family, friends and the wider community.

Rev Fr MICHAEL TATE AO 6.07.1945 - 5.06.2026 (SVC 1958-62)

Michael passed away at Calvary Hospital on 5 June. He is survived by his brother Richard, sister-in-law Helen, nieces Adele and Monica, great-nephew James and great-niece Leila.

Michael was the adored son of Wilma and William (Bill) (both dec.) and loving brother to Richard, (SVC 1961-64) and David (SVC 1959-66 dec.).

The family is grateful for the support from St Francis Xavier's Catholic Church and the broader Tasmanian community, along with Calvary Hospital for the care of Michael.
