Football clash a triumph in Centenary Year 

I was pleased to attend the OVA Football Club Centenary Year clash with the old enemy (Hutchins) on Saturday, 30 May, at the New Town Bike Track oval. 

The game was played in the fine spirit of the traditional clashes with a fitting result — a win to OVA as all were hoping for. A strong second half effort by OVA delivered an excellent outcome which provided a good reason for celebration at the Centenary Dinner that evening.

The OVA Association looks forward to stronger connections with the Football Club and the other OVA sporting groups in the coming years as part of connecting the broader OVA and College community.

ANZAC Liturgy

Members of the OVA were invited to both attend and present at this event at the College on 5 May. I was pleased to attend on behalf of OVA along with Committee members Alan Robertson (Chair of Medal of Merit Committee) and Bruce Woods. 

Alan Robertson OAM, CSM, RFD, JP delivered an excellent address that was most thought-provoking and appropriate in the ANZAC spirit and well received by all present.  

Alumni Database and OVA membership

Work continues in updating the College database. The Secretary of OVA, Enzo Botte, will be communicating with you shortly so that we can have up to date information on all past students — particularly current communication and contact preferences.

Progress on this important task is progressing well. All members can now access information on the new OVA website. See details in this addition of OVAtions.

It is now clear that there is a deep interest in developing and maintaining a broader College community and OVA is seeking to take a leading position in bringing this community together with the College.

Please help support OVA by proactively responding to communications that will assist in growing and completing the work done to date on the College alumni database.
