Year 5/6

It has been another busy and rewarding few weeks in Grade 5/6, with students continuing to demonstrate our school values of Learning, Positivity and Safety in all that they do.

In our Knowledge Building unit, students have been learning about England and the Golden Age. As part of this learning, students have been researching a significant person from the period and are currently writing a biography about their chosen figure. It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm students have shown towards their research and the thoughtful questions and discussions taking place in class.

We also participated in our Inform and Empower virtual incursion, where students learnt more about digital citizenship and online safety. The session provided valuable reminders about being responsible, respectful and safe when using technology.

This week, students represented our school proudly during the Winter Sports competition. Both netball teams and the football team displayed excellent teamwork, sportsmanship and determination throughout the day. It was fantastic to see students encouraging one another and demonstrating our school values both on and off the field.

I would also like to congratulate Ayla and Kaylee from 5/6T, who recently travelled to Castlemaine to compete in cross country and both progressed through to the next stage. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and the way they represented themselves and our school.
