Principals Message

Welcome back to what will be another fantastic term of friendship, teaching, learning and creative arts experiences at St Mary’s School Rushworth. 

Our students have made a wonderful start to the term and are enthusiastically participating with our Performing Artists in Residence each Tuesday. This program will continue for the remainder of Term Three and into Term Four, culminating in a special performance for the school and wider community in October. We look forward to seeing the creativity, confidence and collaboration that will continue to grow through this exciting opportunity.

Congratulations also to our Grade 3 and Grade 5 students on their wonderful NAPLAN results. St Mary’s School Rushworth’s results were recently celebrated across the Diocese at a Principals’ meeting, which is a terrific acknowledgement of the learning taking place in our school. 

A sincere congratulations and thank you to our teachers for preparing students so well and supporting them to confidently demonstrate their knowledge, skills and learning. We are very proud of our students and staff. 

Student voice is a priority for us here at St Mary’s. As part of this commitment, we have a dedicated team of senior students who visit classrooms each fortnight through SRC to gather ideas and feedback from students across the school. 

This process gives all students the opportunity to share improvements they would like to see around the school and helps our student leaders advocate on behalf of their peers. 

Recently, our senior student leaders met with senior staff to request new footballs and netball bibs. We are pleased to share that these items have now been received and are already being enjoyed by our students. 

We are very proud of the wonderful young people and leaders at St Mary’s School Rushworth, and we thank them for the positive contribution they continue to make to our school community.
