Banksia House

Hi everyone! My name is Jannah JA and I am a part of the SRC, representing Year 12 Banksia.

This term has been a new and nerve-wracking experience for me as it is my first time taking up a leadership role during my time in high school. Even so, I am grateful to have this role as I get to improve my leadership skills and have the chance to get along with other Banksia students from different year levels. During this time, I have been attending SRC meetings, both within my House peers and the whole student council, where we got to discuss how we can make Banksia and the school a positive and comfortable environment. Being part of the SRC team, I’ve enjoyed cooperating with my peers and expressing various ideas I have on improving Banksia house.

The Swimming Carnival has just ended, and it was a fun experience for me, and I assume for other students as well. We got to see a variety of unique costumes and got to cheer on the people who had taken part in the swimming activities. Even though Banksia ended up getting 5th place, at least we didn't end up last, thanks to the amazing students who participated.
