Student Leaders Corner

Hello, we are Anisa and Daniel, and we are your SRC Presidents for 2026: your “voice of voices”. We are extremely grateful to serve you in this role, and represent your student voice to make positive change in our school environment.
Our goal is to achieve a school environment where students feel respected among each other, and have the courage to try new things, talk to new people and voice their ideas. Our big idea for this year is building ‘small steps’ and having the ‘courage’ to take these initiatives. Through our SRC team, we intend to spread these messages of courage and build small steps throughout the Dandenong High community, so that we can increase school engagement and student connection. However, it isn’t just about spreading the message, it’s about enforcing it and demonstrating it.
As SRC Presidents, with our 42 SRC members, our goal is to actively build a school community where students feel respected. Our goal is to build a school community where students can talk to one another, radiate positivity and feel respected. Our goal is to build a school community where students feel they matter, and they feel heard by not just us, but their classmates and school peers alike.
However, the possibility of creating positive change in our school community also relies on all of you students of Dandenong High School. So while we actively try to encourage and demonstrate respect, engagement and kindness throughout the school, we have high hopes that all of you will do just the same, and we look forward to hearing from all you, your ideas, and your thoughts on how we can expand this positivity even further.
Our Term 1 is close to concluding, and our annual Swimming Carnival has taken place once again. It was very pleasing to see so many colourful costumes and students demonstrating pride for their House through swimming participation as well as clothing. Congratulations to Callistemon for winning first place overall, followed closely in second by Eucalyptus, and third by Darwinia. Congratulations to all students who swam and participated in accumulating points for their house, as well as those who came in as support. It was refreshing to see a lot of student engagement, and school spirit in our first school event of the year, and we hope this enthusiasm is thematic throughout 2026. Let’s all try to have the courage to take that small step to participate in every activity!
Overall, we wish you all a great term break. Please rest, get refreshed and be ready to continue the success we have started this year off with, one ‘small step’ at a time. Have courage, and take the initiative to make the rest of 2026 a successful year.
Have a wonderful term break everyone.
