Student Service Team Updates

Thrive & Connect

Thrive & Connect program is in its 3rd year and was made up of a new group from Year 7 and was a hit! The facilitators, our Mental Health practitioner and one of the school counsellors, enjoy seeing the growth of students; their increase in their self-confidence and also the friendships formed along the way. Huge success!

BREAKFAST CLUB:

Congratulations! Dandenong High School was selected as this month’s Vic Kids Eat Well Monthly Lucky Bite reward winner for our efforts to complete the ‘Colour breakfast with fruit‘ bite!

We’re so pleased to be recognized for the fantastic work we are doing to give kids the healthy start they deserve.  Therefore, we received a voucher to spend at Kitchen Warehouse and we are so thankful. We can’t wait to show the students are new kitchen supplies.

So, come along and check for what is install for Term 2 Brekkie Club. We like to see many new faces, so enjoy us and keep warm!

Harmony Week at DHS!

Harmony Day aims to celebrate Australia's cultural diversity and highlight inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. In Week 8, students were involved in some lunchtime activities such as a hand wall pledge where students wrote what Harmony means to do them, and a photo frame that students could take photos. And of course, it couldn’t be an event without music to get the students to hear different cultural songs and get the vibe going. A huge success indeed and we thank everyone for everyone for participating and celebrating this event with us.

End of Term Celebration

Last week of term, the Wellbeing held a lunchtime event to showcase the Greater Youth Services team and what they are offering during the school holidays. The best of all was to have fun whilst enjoying some jams from the band.

Sporting Change

This term we had another successful Sporting Change program. Each Thursday after school students participated in free sports through the Springvale Monash Legal Service. All students welcome to check it out, play sports, have a good time and even get snacks!
