On Saturday, we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. We thank you for Mary’s example of faith, courage and love.

As our school and communities come together, help us to welcome everyone with kindness and open hearts. May we support one another, celebrate our differences and grow together as one family.

May Mary watch over us and guide us always.

A Milestone for Our Community

What a wonderful and significant occasion we shared last Friday evening as our parish communities came together to celebrate Mass and mark the beginning of our journey as one parish -The Emmaus Parish -Brunswick Moreland

This is truly a milestone for all of us, as we embrace this new chapter together. It was wonderful to see so many members of our school and parish community gathered in prayer, celebration and fellowship.

A special thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening so special. Your presence and support were a beautiful reminder of the strength of our faith community and the importance of coming together.

We look forward to all that lies ahead as we continue this journey as one parish, united in faith and community.

SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY - Monday 24 August

On Monday 24 August, the staff of St Fidelis will participate in a day of professional and spiritual learning at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre. Throughout the day, staff will explore the life and mission of Saint Mary MacKillop, learning about her deep faith, courage, compassion, and commitment to education and service. We will reflect on the ways in which Mary’s work has enriched our lives and continues to influence Catholic education and the communities we serve today. This experience will provide an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and renewal as we consider how Mary MacKillop’s example inspires us in our own vocation as educators and members of the St Fidelis community. 

MACSEYE will be available for all day care if you would like to register. 

Keeping Our Community Safe at Drop-Off and Pick-Up

A reminder to all families about the importance of following the road and parking regulations around our school, particularly in Saunders Street during busy drop off and pick up times.

The Drop off in Saunders Street has been established to help keep traffic moving and, most importantly, to ensure the safety of our children and families. We ask that all parents and carers please adhere to the signs and use the zone correctly.

Please remember:

• Follow all Drop off  signs and instructions.
• The Drop off zone is for quick drop off and pickup only.
• Please do not park or leave your vehicle unattended in the zone.
• Always check carefully for children and pedestrians before moving your vehicle.
• Please be patient and considerate of other families and road users.
• Follow the directions of staff who may be assisting during busy times.

Keeping our children safe is a shared responsibility. While we understand that drop off and pick up can be busy, following the designated arrangements helps ensure everyone can arrive and leave school safely.

Bullying No Way Week – Small Acts. Big Impact.

This week, from 17–21 August 2026, our school will be joining schools and communities across Australia in recognising Bullying No Way Week – the National Week of Action.

This year’s theme, “Small Acts. Big Impact.”, reminds us that even the simplest acts of kindness, inclusion and respect can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day and help create a school community where everyone feels safe, valued and included.

Throughout the week, our students will be encouraged to think about how their everyday words and actions can make a positive difference. We will focus on practical ways to stand up for others, include those around us, show kindness and speak up when something is not right.

We encourage parents and carers to continue these conversations at home. Small actions such as inviting someone to join in, checking in with a friend, using kind words or speaking up when someone is being treated unfairly can have a big impact.

At St Fidelis, we believe that preventing bullying is a shared responsibility. By working together students, staff and families we can continue to build a community where every child feels safe, respected, included and valued.

As part of Bullying No Way Week, students will participate in lessons focused on bullying, kindness, inclusion and respectful relationships in place of our usual TRP learning.

On Monday 17 August, students joined Kids Helpline’s Largest Anti-Bullying Lesson live webinar. Students participated from their classrooms with no cameras or microphones.
